Sharemarket Wrap 20 April 2012

The All Ordinaries index gained 3.1 points to end the day 0.07% higher at 4,444.4.
Boral Limited (BLD) fell 2.89% to end the day at $3.70 after announcing a profit downgrade of $22m for FY12; NPAT of $128m-$153m is now the expectation. The downgrade relates to continued heavy rain and lower residential housing activity on the east coast of Australia.
Woolworths Limited (WOW) rose 0.12% to end the day at $25.88 after announcing third quarter sales from continuing operations of $13.7bn, an increase of 3.9% on the previous year. Management noted that while they were pleased with the improving sales trend, they continue to remain cautious about the sales outlook due to tough macroeconomic conditions.
